It's OK, but if I had bought this for myself I would have bought a simpler model...
The setting we use the most (which is most like a normal comfortable shower) unfortunately makes a pretty loud whirring noise. Other problems include a hose that has a strong plastic/rubber smell that fills the bathroom even a month later, and a 'mist' setting that only puts out tepid water (I think this may be because the water droplets are so small they cool as soon as they hit the air).
I also don't think any parts are actually metal; seems like it's all chrome-plated plastic.

This is the most expensive Waterpik shower head on a hose I could find with a single head so I believe it is the best they make for retail buyers in 2011. I didn't find many other choices locally or on Amazon. It works well, the main settings work as advertised, it was very easy to install, and it has a white plastic threaded water restrictor that is removable for better water flow. You can pull it out with needle nose pliers. This is a good shower head. I am happy with it so far but don't expect 4-star resort hotel quality from this. It is fun though, 6 different settings are a definite plus.
What didn't really work was the mist feature that I had high hopes for. It is more of a fast tight water beam with restricted flow to make the water spread out a little more. Don't expect a rain forest effect, it is more like a garden hose with a spray attachment that has a stinging sensation on your skin if you are close to it. I removed the water restrictor before installing it so I may have killed this feature.
The biggest problem with this shower head is that it is all plastic. Chromed plastic. For $40+ you should get metal parts at least in the connectors. But they do connect solidly ... so far.
There are a lot of complaints about the Waterpik models in other reviews that I can address:
1. It does NOT leak from the main seal if you slightly tighten the plastic grey main connector with a pair of pliers. It does leak and spray all over the place if you don't. Make it tight but not too tight with a tool, your hands might not be strong enough. I do not see water leaking from any of the other connectors that I hand tightened.
2. It makes some noise on some of the spray settings, but it is not a broken or defective kind of sound. To me it sounds like a low subtle rumble but it is not loud. The sound it makes is probably necessary for it to do what it is doing.
3. The hose DOES smell weird. Like petroleum chemicals or a tire tube. At first I didn't think I would care but now it is bothering me. It is a stinky hose.
